Ras de Carançà-Coma de Vaca

Time required: 6 hours
Height difference: +1,000m, -800m.

From the refuge, follow the Carançà valley upstream. The ascent goes past the crystal-clear lakes of Carançà, dominated by the rock faces of the Pic de Infern and the Circ de Carançà. Walk up as far as the Coll de Carançà pass, where the markings of the GR-11 appear, and then make the descent on scree on the southern slope, which is initially very steep. The path continues marked in red and descends the lonely Coma de Vaca valley, with the river constantly to the right. The refuge is at the end of the valley, next to the river Freser.
