The
three refuge trekking route is a fantastic way to discover the unforgettable
scenery of the Eastern Pyranees. Enjoy the abundance of wild fauna, spectacular
mountain passes, isolated lakes, leafy woods and tumbling streams. This
circular route can be undertaken from three starting points: Queralbs,
Vallter 2000 or Thuès. The walk will take between 4 and 5 days, passing
through high mountain terrain and finishing at the original departure
point. At the end of each stage you can enjoy staying in staffed refuges
where you will be able to relax and gather your energies for the next
day. In the course of the trek, you will ascend and descend by more than
3000 metres. The heartiest walkers may like to finish off each day by
climbing the area's most famous peaks: Balandrau, Bastiments, Gra de Fajol,
Gallinàs, Torreneules and Puigmal. If they do so, they will have
completed a total of 6000 metres of ascent and descent. |
