It was a small hut that was the function of free and shelter that was built in the 50s in terms of the mares to make your stay during the study of a project to build a dam for hydroelectric exploitation . The hut was ceded to the FEEC to function as a shelter for hikers

In summer 1998, FEEC within the National Plan of Refuges with the support of the Consejo Superior de Deportes and the Governement of Catalonia and decided to demolish the old shelter deficit and free to build a new shelter kept

The first phase of the project began in early August 1998 and was completed in mid-November. Throughout this period we were living in tents camped in the plà de les Eugues to 2000 meters. The hardness of the usual world of construction was increased by the fact that the high mountains.

There were two masons, few bricklayers, Yolanda and me, the same as future guardians of the shelter should do a "practice" cooking for the workers during the construction of the building. Many bricklayers were unable to withstand the harsh environment and were "giving the drain" by making half the work had to resort to collegues more adapted environment.

Work had begun too late and this obliged us to work clockwise to finish the structure (walls, roof and windows) before it reaches the winter.

The days grew shorter, the sun will cost increasingly come to the shelter, the temperature went down sharply and began the first snowfall and strong winds

After many sacrifices, in mid November 1998, the structure was completed.

The interior finish were made between May and June 1999
